WHY YOUR BODY SKIN DESERVES SOME TLC, TOO

If you're like us, you have a pretty extensive skincare routine. At least, you do for your face. You religiously double-cleanse before applying some combination of toners, serums, moisturizers, sunscreens, and oils, and some nights, you even treat your complexion to a mask.

But when it comes to your body? Mehh. After you shower, you sometimes half-heartedly slather on a lotion. And that's... kind of it. We get it! It's a lot of space to cover! And also sort of exhausting to reach everywhere. But we're here to tell you it's worth it to take those extra few minutes to moisturize from neck to toes. Here's why.

Your skin is your largest organ.

You've heard this before. But let's let it sink in—pun intended—for a minute. You work out to keep your heart healthy. You avoid smoking for your lungs. You eat nutritious food and drink lots of water to keep your internal organs in tip-top shape. You might even take a supplement for healthier skin. Meanwhile, the skin of your body is your largest organ of all and works 24/7 to protect all your internal organs from harm. And all it asks for in return is a little daily nourishment. That doesn't seem like too tall of an order, huh?

It instantly plumps and brightens.

Our facial skin does a 180 when we apply our hydrating serums and moisturizers. All of a sudden, we're plump, dewy, and ready to take on the world. But next time you put on your body moisturizer, really pay attention to how much healthier your skin looks afterward. Put on flash and zoom in close with your iPhone. Once you see it, you won't be able to unsee it, and you'll start to love the way you look in bright or daring clothing even more.

While we're on the subject of brightening, a quick FYI: Our Glow + Go Collagen-Boosting Luminous Body Oil has subtle flecks of shimmer that impart the most flawless, glowy sheen. You'll look radiant all over instantly and long-term, thanks to organic argan and jojoba oils and vitamin E.

It minimizes redness and irritation.

Remember what we said about your skin protecting your internal organs? It also protects from irritation from fabrics, detergent, pollution, and anything else that makes contact with your body—but only if your skin's barrier isn't compromised. And if you're an avid facial skincare user, you know the primary way to keep that barrier strong is by moisturizing and locking in hydration daily. The same applies to your body: Slack on moisturizing, and redness, blotchiness, and irritation will increasingly become a concern.

You'll see much firmer skin over time.

Ever heard a grandmother or adult over 60 talk about that one drugstore skincare product that's helped keep wrinkles at bay? We now know there are much more sophisticated (and less irritating) options, but that product helped as much as it did because it was moisturizing—and your grandma used it every. Single. Day. Why would your body skin be any different? Without a regular dose of hydration, your skin will lose elasticity and radiance and begin sagging and wrinkling at a much faster rate. And unfortunately, that damage can't be reversed by lotions and potions.

Better yet, look out for a moisturizer that encourages increased collagen production. Glow + Go is packed with lupinus albus seed extract, a natural power ingredient that kicks your own body's collagen production into high gear.
