Ever feel like planning a relaxing summer getaway can feel… not so relaxing? Ditto. We’ve found that one of the biggest stressors is packing, especially when it comes to deciding which beauty products to take (and more importantly: making sure they don’t break!). With these packing hacks, though, getting ready to jet-set will feel like a breeze.
PACK MULTI-USE PRODUCTS.
This is the time to get creative with your makeup bag essentials! Cut down on suitcase clutter by using one product for two or three purposes. Some ideas: Use our Lip Crème as blush, our Hydraglow as shimmery eye shadow, our navy Jetsetter Lip Velvet as eyeliner, and Sunrise Pressed Pigment Palette as a contour and highlight palette in addition to eye shadow.
DITCH "JUST IN CASE" ITEMS.
You know the ones: the berry lipstick you pack "just in case" you end up going on a date. Or the liquid liner you bring “just in case” you end up getting a res at that fancy restaurant. You probably won't use them, and they'll just take up space!
UPGRADE YOUR TRAVEL BOTTLES.
Empty your full-size skin and hair favorites into squishy silicone tubes or even reusable silicone bags instead of stiff plastic bottles. They make it easier to squeeze out every last bit of product AND can be compressed a little for tighter packing.
PROTECT POWDER PRODUCTS.
Wrap compacts (like our Pressed Mineral Foundation) in layers of tissue or even socks so they’re less likely to break going through security and baggage claim.
USE A CLEAR MAKEUP BAG.
At home, you probably have all your go-to products in view so you can access them easily and get ready as quickly as possible. A transparent makeup bag is the nomadic equivalent: you’ll be able to grab anything you need fast, so you can focus on having fun instead of digging through packed products. Bonus points for packing two—one for makeup and one for skin care.
